Supreme Court lists pensioners’ case for 3 November 2026: W.P.(C) 525/2025 and Interim Relief Plea explained

A significant pension-related matter involving the All India S-30 Pensioners Association will again come before the Supreme Court on 3 November 2026.

The latest Supreme Court Record of Proceedings confirms that W.P.(C) No. 525/2025 — All India S-30 Pensioners Association vs Union of India & Others was heard along with several connected matters on 25 September 2026. The Court has directed that these matters be listed again on 3 November.

What is W.P.(C) 525/2025?

The main case recorded in the Supreme Court document is:

W.P.(C) No. 525/2025
All India S-30 Pensioners Association
Vs
Union of India & Others.

The latest document is not a final judgment. It is the Record of Proceedings for the hearing held on 25 September 2026.

This distinction is important because the document confirms the procedural status of the case, but it does not decide the pension dispute on merits.

Three important applications are listed in the case

The Supreme Court record shows three Interlocutory Applications, or IAs, in W.P.(C) 525/2025:

  • IA No. 131347/2025 — Grant of Interim Relief

  • IA No. 27055/2026 — Intervention Application

  • IA No. 27067/2026 — Permission to Appear and Argue in Person.

In simple terms:

Interim Relief: temporary relief sought while the main case is still pending.

Intervention Application: a request by an interested party to participate in the proceedings.

Appear and Argue in Person: permission sought to personally present arguments before the Court instead of relying only on an advocate.

Has the Supreme Court granted interim relief?

No such order is recorded in this PDF.

The phrase “Grant of Interim Relief” is the title of an application pending before the Court.

It should therefore not be interpreted as meaning that interim relief has already been granted.

The 25 September order does not award any percentage increase in pension, grant any financial benefit or finally decide the pension issue.

Which other matters are being heard along with it?

The Record of Proceedings also lists several other matters, including:

  • Diary No. 48588/2025

  • W.P.(C) No. 1057/2025

  • Diary No. 37116/2026

  • SLP(C) No. 29189/2026

  • SLP(C) No. 34102/2026.

Diary No. 48588/2025 also has an application seeking interim relief.

However, this particular three-page record does not explain the complete grounds and prayers of every connected case. Therefore, it would be premature to say that every matter raises exactly the same legal question without reading those petitions separately.

Who heard the matter on 25 September?

The matter was placed before a Supreme Court Bench comprising:

  • Justice Pamidighantam Sri Narasimha

  • Justice Alok Aradhe.

The record also shows appearances by senior Government law officers, including the Attorney General for India R. Venkataramani and Additional Solicitor General representatives.

Their appearance confirms representation before the Court, but the document does not record any final Government concession or final judicial finding on the pension issue.

What did the Supreme Court actually order?

The operative part of the 25 September order is very short:

“List the matters on 03rd November, 2026.”

This means the cases remain pending and will come up again on 3 November 2026.

What has not been decided yet?

The present Supreme Court document does not show that:

  • interim relief has been granted;

  • pension revision has been ordered;

  • any pension-related provision has been struck down;

  • the petition has been allowed or dismissed;

  • pre-2026 pensioners have been granted an 8th CPC revision.

These issues should therefore not be presented as decided facts.

Why are pensioners watching this case closely?

The hearing has attracted attention because pensioners are already closely following questions surrounding future pension revision and the 8th Central Pay Commission.

However, an important distinction must be maintained:

This Supreme Court Record of Proceedings is not an 8th CPC order.

It confirms only the status of the pending court proceedings and the next listing date.

The next important development will therefore be what, if any, substantive direction the Supreme Court passes when the matters are taken up again on 3 November 2026.
