Indian Air Force Recruitment 2026: Agniveervayu and Medical Assistant applications open for Intake 02/2027

The Indian Air Force has issued separate recruitment notifications for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 and Airmen Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trade Intake 02/2027.

Both recruitment processes follow the same application schedule, but they should not be treated as one combined vacancy. Their educational requirements, age limits, service tenure, salary structure and career conditions are different.

Online registration began on 6 July 2026 and will close at 11:00 PM on 26 July 2026. The Phase-I online examination for both entries is scheduled for 22 and 23 September 2026.

Two separate Indian Air Force recruitment notifications

The recruitment announcement covers two completely different career entries.

Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027

Agniveervayu recruitment is conducted under the Agnipath Scheme. Selected candidates are engaged in the Indian Air Force for four years.

Eligible unmarried male and female candidates can apply. After completing the four-year engagement, Agniveervayu personnel may apply for enrolment in the regular Airmen cadre.

However, regular retention is not automatic. Up to 25% of a particular batch may be considered for the regular cadre, depending on performance, organisational requirements and government policy.

Airmen Medical Assistant Intake 02/2027

The Medical Assistant recruitment is a regular Group ‘Y’ Airmen entry. It is open to eligible male candidates with Physics, Chemistry and Biology qualifications or recognised pharmacy qualifications.

This entry is not part of the four-year Agnipath system. Selected Medical Assistant Airmen are enrolled for an initial period of 20 years, subject to applicable service conditions.
