13 July 2026 की दोपहर Nagaland के Chümoukedima district में Assam Rifles का एक वाहन operational movement के दौरान आगे बढ़ रहा था।
यह सड़क Assam Rifles Training Centre and School के नजदीक Shokhuvi क्षेत्र की ओर जाती है। Khopanullah के पास पहुंचते ही सड़क किनारे एक शक्तिशाली धमाका हुआ।
शुरुआती जांच में इसे suspected Improvised Explosive Device यानी IED blast बताया गया।
धमाके में Assam Rifles के Havildar Mohammad Iqbal ने अपना सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया। चार अन्य Assam Rifles personnel घायल हुए। कुछ स्थानीय reports में एक civilian के घायल होने का भी उल्लेख है।
Assam Rifles vehicle को कहां निशाना बनाया गया?
Blast Nagaland के Chümoukedima district में Chümoukedima ‘A’ Village–Shokhuvi road पर Khopanullah के पास हुआ।
यह क्षेत्र Assam Rifles Training Centre and School के नजदीक है। उपलब्ध reports के अनुसार घटना दोपहर लगभग दो बजे हुई, जब Assam Rifles personnel operational movement पर थे।
Explosive के प्रभाव से Assam Rifles vehicle क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया। घटनास्थल के पास एक autorickshaw के मलबे का भी उल्लेख किया गया है, जिसके अंदर explosive रखे होने की संभावना की जांच की गई। लेकिन IED को किस vehicle या location में छिपाया गया था, इसकी अंतिम official forensic conclusion सार्वजनिक नहीं हुई है।
उस दोपहर क्या हुआ?
Reports के अनुसार Assam Rifles personnel एक vehicle में operational movement कर रहे थे।
जैसे ही vehicle Khopanullah के पास पहुंचा, सड़क किनारे रखा suspected IED explode हो गया। धमाका संभवतः Assam Rifles vehicle को निशाना बनाकर किया गया था।
Blast के बाद vehicle गंभीर रूप से क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया। आसपास धुआं और मलबा फैल गया। घटना की सूचना मिलते ही additional security personnel और emergency teams मौके पर पहुंचीं।
Havildar Mohammad Iqbal की जान नहीं बचाई जा सकी। चार अन्य Assam Rifles personnel को medical treatment के लिए भेजा गया।
शहीद Havildar Mohammad Iqbal कौन थे?
इस हमले में बलिदान देने वाले जवान की पहचान Havildar Mohammad Iqbal, जिन्हें कुछ reports में Mohd Iqbal लिखा गया है, के रूप में हुई।
वह Assam Rifles में Havildar के पद पर कार्यरत थे। Reports ने उन्हें 28 Assam Rifles Battalion से संबंधित बताया है।
Havildar Mohammad Iqbal Jammu and Kashmir के Poonch district के Kallar Mohra गांव के निवासी बताए गए। उनके पार्थिव शरीर को military honours के साथ अंतिम विदाई देने की तैयारी की गई।
Assam Rifles Training Centre and School में आयोजित wreath-laying ceremony में senior Army और Assam Rifles officers ने उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।
उनका बलिदान केवल एक casualty figure नहीं है। वह एक सैनिक, एक परिवार के सदस्य और Northeast में कठिन परिस्थितियों में duty निभा रहे security force personnel थे।
घायल जवानों के नाम और ranks क्या हैं?
Available official और credible reports में चार घायल Assam Rifles personnel के नाम तथा individual ranks सार्वजनिक नहीं किए गए हैं।
इसलिए फिलहाल केवल इतना confirmed है कि:
- चार Assam Rifles personnel घायल हुए;
- उन्हें medical treatment के लिए भेजा गया;
- उनकी individual medical condition सार्वजनिक रूप से स्पष्ट नहीं की गई।
कुछ reports में blast में एक civilian के घायल होने की भी जानकारी दी गई है। इसी कारण कुछ headlines में कुल पांच injured बताए गए, जबकि Defence PRO आधारित शुरुआती reports में चार injured Assam Rifles personnel का उल्लेख था।

धमाके के पीछे कौन था?
यह इस पूरी घटना का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण और अभी तक अनसुलझा सवाल है।
Latest publicly available information के अनुसार:
- किसी militant organisation को officially responsible घोषित नहीं किया गया;
- किसी group ने publicly attack की जिम्मेदारी नहीं ली;
- attackers की identity सार्वजनिक नहीं हुई;
- attack के motive की final confirmation नहीं हुई;
- किसी organisation के साथ direct link साबित नहीं हुआ।
NSCN-IM सहित विभिन्न Naga political, civil और community organisations ने हमले की निंदा की।
NSCN-IM ने घटना को condemn करते हुए attackers की पहचान करने में सहयोग की बात कही। लेकिन इस statement का अर्थ यह नहीं है कि NSCN-IM या किसी अन्य named organisation को investigation में दोषी पाया गया है।
इसलिए किसी भी group को बिना evidence attack का जिम्मेदार बताना factual और editorial दोनों रूप से गलत होगा।
Nagaland Police ने ₹50,000 reward क्यों घोषित किया?
17 July 2026 को Nagaland Police ने इस case से जुड़ी credible information के लिए ₹50,000 cash reward घोषित किया।
Reward ऐसी जानकारी के लिए रखा गया जो:
- attackers की पहचान कर सके;
- suspects की गिरफ्तारी में मदद करे;
- IED लगाने वालों तक police को पहुंचाए;
- planning या local support network का पता लगाए।
Police ने भरोसा दिया कि information देने वाले व्यक्ति की identity confidential रखी जाएगी।
Reward announcement से यह भी स्पष्ट होता है कि उस stage तक attackers की definitive public identification नहीं हो सकी थी।
एक सप्ताह में Assam Rifles पर दूसरा हमला
Nagaland IED blast से ठीक एक सप्ताह पहले, 6 July 2026 को Manipur के Ukhrul district में Assam Rifles personnel पर ambush हुआ था।
उस हमले में दो Assam Rifles personnel मारे गए थे।
13 July को Nagaland में हुए IED blast ने Northeast में Assam Rifles movement की सुरक्षा को लेकर चिंता और बढ़ा दी।
हालांकि इन दोनों incidents के बीच कोई direct operational connection officially establish नहीं हुआ है। केवल dates की proximity के आधार पर दोनों attacks को एक ही group से जोड़ना उचित नहीं होगा।

Assam Rifles Northeast के कठिन border और counter-insurgency environment में काम करती है।
